SM37/36 and program RMDATIND?

When running program RMDATIND via SM37, what exactly required to not get failure

Data does not match the job definition; job terminated

I know that it is possible to run RMDATIND via SM37, because our system currently has jobs doing this.

I have read other threads in this forum indicating that this program can not be run using SM37, however I know this is not true (at least with the version of SAP we are using.

My issue is, that when I copy this job, I end up being the owner.  I see no way to change this.

I can change the owner of each step, but this does not prevent the error.

I have no trouble running RMDATIND via SE38, with the exact same input,  and having the program succeed.

So if the problem is a permission issue, it is not within program RMDATIND, but at a higher level in the job processing.

I have concluded that the error is caused by either

1) The permissions of the Job Owner  (NOT the step owner)

2) Some setting I am missing, when I copy the job, that I am not seeing in SM37.

I have one other concern, related to this program, and the ability to schedule it to run within a job.

IF this is allowed in our current version of SAP, but will NOT be allowed in a future version, I need to be aware of this, as I suspect we will upgrade at some point in the near future.

I did not design our process that uses this program, I am only trying to fully understand it, and keep it running.

Thank you and Regards
