Hello everyone,
We have agreed with supplier of aluminum extrusions to be invoiced, upon goods issues, based on prices that were in effect at time of goods receipt. The main reason is to not penalize either ourselves or the vendor based on volatility of aluminum price in commodities market between the time we receive the materials and the time we issued to our manufacturing facility.
Each pallet of aluminum extruded parts have a unique pallet number so we could use this. Or maybe have a batch representing the entire receipt (multiple bundles) and have pricing tied to this.
At this point, these are our ideas but we do not know whether consignment info records can manage either serial numbers of batches.
Please advise whether we are on right track or if you have any other suggestions.
