User Exit Number range control

Dear all,

Please how can i control alphanumeric range number for material type and batch :

For material,

I need to have range from CM0001 to CM9999, but SAP allows me to create material with CM1, CM1A, ...

The requirement is to have material codes like CM0001, CM1111, CM2299, ...

For batch,

I need to have codification as follows :

From A00000A to Z99999Z, is this possible in standard SAP ?
