SAP PPM(Item) to PS integration

Hi PPM Experts,

PPM-PS integration configuration are done. When the user create an item by choosing project template(PS configured), a project will be created automatically in PS. I am hitting an error because of the code masking in PS. Meaning, External id format is different from PPM. I am finding difficulties to point out the correct badi to format the incoming external id from PPM. Can anyone please tell me the Badi;s that will  solve my issue.

Do we have any configuration setting to map the PS code masking to PPM?
